BABY WEARING 101
COURSE: New Parents Info Night! (Dates Coming Soon) TIME: 6:30pm to 9pm COST: FREE! Space is limited so please register early. A free information session designed specifically for women (and their partners) who are planning for an upcoming pregnancy or who are newly pregnant. The goal of this class is to help parents-to-be gain information and become aware of resources and support available to them. Participants will learn how to achieve optimal health before and during pregnancy; their options as it relates to their prenatal caregiver; and the many things they need to consider before welcoming a baby into their lives. This class will also provide each of its members, the opportunity to begin developing a community of support that can assist them in having a positive pregnancy, birth and parenting experience. TIME: 10am to 12pm COST: $40 per a child and two parents (snacks & beverages included). Please bring a yoga or camping mat, pillows, and a small doll or stuffed toy. A fun class geared to children that helps them better understand the realities of sharing life with a baby. This class teaches them what they can expect, the importance of ‘gentle hands’, and how they can help their parents care for their new sibling. Children will be able to enjoy a special time with their parents while they learn about their new role as ‘big brother’ or ‘big sister’ and just how special they are.
TIME: 6:30pm to 9pm COST: $50 per a couple (snacks & beverages included) - please bring a yoga or camping mat and two pillows. An interactive and hands-on workshop that focuses on preparing both the expectant mother and her partner/support person for the physical and emotional intensity that labour brings. Pain management techniques covered include relaxation & massage, counter pressure, positioning, breathing, birth ball use, hydrotherapy and emotional support. Expectant parents will learn how optimal positioning of their baby can help reduce or prevent back pain in labour and will be given the opportunity to practice various methods that can reduce the chance of a prolonged labour.
